You live in (city & country)?
Your birthdate (or age)?
Your occupation/job/studies?
Under education as a car mechanic.

Your hobbies?
Speedrunning (though not as much as I used to), playing/listening to music, drinking the occasional amount of booze at weekends (though that too doesn't occur that often anymore), and of course spending time with my little boy Atlas (born in August 2009).
I play drums in a band called The Hitchcocks. We just finished recording and mixing our debut full-length album. It should be out fairly soon. We've also been touring a lot in Europe the last couple of years.

Quake settings (resolution, version etc.)?
JoeQuake all the way baby! I used to record demos with WinQuake, but once you've made the move to JoeQuake, you'll never want to go back :-)

First contact to speedrunning (when, how etc.)?
I downloaded QdQ_1949 sometime back in late 1997 and was totally blown away.
I've been a regular visitor to SDA & QdQ ever since. I joined SDA as an updater myself on December 16th, 2000, and I'm still doing some of the behind the scenes work. I'm also one of the maintainers of the Quake done Quick site.

First speedrunning demo?
Favorite speedrunning demo(s) from yourself
(the one(s) that you're most proud of)?
I'm proud of my entire collection of iD single player records (currently counting 307), but a few of them stand out. My demos on END in particular are very unique. My E3M7 Easy Run is another one I spent years trying to get (because of a silly "houdini" bug in Quake which happens only once in about 1000 tries or so). The Nightmare 100% on E2M6 is kinda cool too, so much can go wrong in that demo, and it's a total bitch to get all kills.

Favorite speedrunning demo(s) from others?
Anything iD :-) Some custom demos are really good too, but i tend to like the iD demos the best.

Favorite player (overall/runs/100%/marathon/coop)?
The old breed: Markus Taipale, Peter Horvath, Ilkka Kurkela, Jozsef Szalontai, Martin Selinus, Yonatan Donner, Daniel Lindberg, Carl Tholin, Nolan Pflug, Justin Fleck, etc.
The new breed: Connor Fitzgerald, Kay Berntsen, Mathias Thore, Dane Plachetta, Robert Maglic, etc.
I'm amazed that new talents still pop up at SDA from time to time. You'd think that by now any newcomer would have a hard time keeping up with the old SDA mob, but the likes of Connor Fitzgerald and Kay Berntsen has shown there's still plenty of room for newcomers.

Favorite trick in a demo?
There's too many favorite tricks to list them all, but a few stands out: The E1M4 NR double Fiend boost by Ilkka Kurkela, Peter Horvath's spawn boost from his E4M3 NR, my own END demos which uses the lightning-gun-through-wall bug, etc etc.

Favorite QdQ release?
I like them all! Some of them are better than others though: The original releases of course (QdQ, QdQr, QdQlite, Qd100Q, Qd100Qlite), but SdS, QdQwav, DotG, QdC and Qd100Qlite2 are true classics as well. The upcoming releases are going to kick major butt too!

Favorite original Quake map?
I like E1M1, E1M3, E4M3 and END because of the records made on those maps. I like E2M5, E4M4 and E4M8 because they have a ton of routes to choose from. And of course E3M7 and E2M6 because those are the hardest two iD maps to get through on nightmare skill :-)

Favorite custom map?
Most annoying monster/map?
E3M7. But it's annoying in a good way :-)

Do you like Doom/Quake2/Q3A?
I was awestruck by Doom when I first played it. I spent countless nights at my older brother's PC playing that game while he was out.
I bought Quake2 right when it came out, but I never really liked it that much. It's way too slow...and so was my PC at that time. It has some potential for speedrunning though, but not at all to the same extend as Q1 has.
Q3A is alright.

What do you think of Quake now?
Still the most enjoyable game ever created.
